SG Archives: New restricted use airport cars

A newer brand name has hit the lineup of Restricted Use cars in Changi Airport.
Previously in a related article, I was able to get photos of some of the older lineups present in Changi Airport. One of the cars was a model that is about to go extinct, with the civilian variants undergoing their next COE renewal in the coming months.
Here, these are a bit different, with a new brand, BYD, being present in the lineup of Restricted Use (RU) cars you can now spot in the airport. Here were two BYD Dolphin hatchbacks parked not far from one another.

The fleet of the company who owns these vehicles, SIA Engineering Company, has not been fully converted to a full Chinese lineup, with a Renault Kangoo II Express van also parked alongside the BYD. The “Hiace”, however, is not one; it is a Chinese Higer H5F.
As more Chinese vehicles grace the market, especially with commercial-based Chinese maker Forland entering via the Singapore Motorshow 2026, I wonder if that Kangoo will eventually be replaced by another Chinese automaker.
