About CharadeSG

Get to know us better with this short/long introduction about what we do.
Greetings, this is a formal introduction of the website and what we do, and what we stand for.
Our “founder”, Efini, was the brainstormer for a website that would allow us to share the works that you see here, and have been since around 2021 or 2022. Many years later, it would seem that this is leading somewhere.
Our origins, should you care
CharadeSG has been one of many names that the website is called. Previously, it wasn’t as snappy with the website names that he tried. Nowadays, its still not snappy and for Search Engine Optimization (SEO), you could guess what shows up first on Google…

This website or blog is dedicated to our sharings about general car enthusiast life in Singapore. Its a personal memorial for our youth and what we’ve seen, done, experienced and enjoyed in our 20s (for now). Due to how things are run in this country (and these days global economy and society) that makes any semblance of fun even more out of reach, cars like many other hobbies are being squeezed out of Singapore for modernization and money. This includes cars which in the 2020s are now seeing rapid decline and extinction of more and more makes and models.

As such, we are trying to document whatever we can and archive photos and experiences that will hopefully last long enough to be a good archive for what used to be in Singapore and the other places we go.
“Life is a finite experience.” according to Efini some years ago – he’s onto something.
If it isn’t obvious, we birthed this website from our shared passion for the automobile – all at a young age and now thriving at an age where we would be in our first cars in most other countries. Due to the landscape here in Singapore, no fun is allowed and money matters above all – only one of us (original writers) can enjoy it young – what a blessing.

What do we cover?
As of June 2026, we focus on the automotive landscape primarily of Singapore and Malaysia.
- Efini handles majority of real-life events, car-spotting, blogs and majority coverage of everything on the site.
- I (SatriaRX) handle online topics and guides, SG Archives on the scrappage side of things.
- Emiri handles fictional game works,
- Inspiron oversees and assists our archiving segment for automotive scans.
This (un)fantastic-four of us are the primary contributors to the website, but will be occasionally accepting guest publications or semi-permanent writers for their respective topics.

How do you survive?
We don’t. We’re not big enough for office space, nor are any of us currently reliant on writing here as a source of income. No, we will not be strangling you for money nor are we on a commission basis, but feel free to support us. As obvious as it is, it helps us a lot and makes the upkeep and writing on here worth the effort.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, you may proceed with our kofi link. Until corporate greed consumes us, we will not commit to any paywall for articles.
For now, as the kids say, we are “doing it for the love of the game” – we write these solely out of passion (and sometimes boredom).

Why old things?
We don’t like the new objects that seem to be increasingly restrictive and corporatized. Surveillance, marketing data, abundance of tech and gadgets for convenience than improvement, planned obsolescence, less soul (objective) and a push for minimalism.
Some other mediums apply with this ideology. Buildings, recreational… its a new can of worms – you get the gist.

What are our plans for CharadeSG?
As the so-called “second-in-command” or rather “second-idiot”, I don’t know. We don’t know, actually. So far are we are fine with hosting the website after migrating out of Blogger. We will try to modernize some of the old posts, but it will likely take years without forcing changes (200+ posts to rewrite and compress). We will strive to populate this website with more relevant writeups as time passes.
I don’t know if we are ever going to be a brand. Our vision has solely been our link slapped on a sideskirt of a racecar similar to the advertising works on 2000s drift cars. We have no plans for being a logo on a shirt or anything like that – we are just us.
But we do hope that as a minimum, this website can remain as a non-profit and a for-fun website for us few to keep managing with new entries related to the automotive archiving of local Singaporean cars and our lives where necessary. Few really do this locally as most car-spotters don’t narrow their perspective on archiving like us, and our photos still stand as a decent repository for very specific cases.

Can I write in as a guest?
Absolutely! We are happy to include your ex cars in a dedicated SG Archives segment that can be dedicated to your old flame. For this, please do reach out to us at @charadesg or write to us via the email above. We likely will take more email responses as our Instagram may become dormant excluding posting. Nevertheless, hit us up.
Opinionated pieces like Fuel for Thought are also available but subject to topics, but otherwise also available but to keep our pieces neutral.

Odd thumbnail. What’s up with that?
The team plays gacha games on a daily basis. For that influence to trickle in is simply a matter of time.
How can I get to know each of you better?
All non-guest writers have an introduction piece to get to know our little cast better. Though its safe to say only Efini is willing to do public appearances. Believe it or not, the rest of us are still dormant on social media and appreciate our anonymity.
What was the inspiration of the logo?
It came from a basic task during Efini’s time in teritiary education. For some reason, he liked it to the point that it has been incorporated into this website as a logo. He and none of us smile like that. I still call it lazy but he won’t budge.
Will you guys ever do good car builds?
No. We can’t execute good taste, good fitment and good builds.
I may have an issue regarding copyright on your site.
Please email us at charademail@proton.me or send a message at @charadesg. Thank you.
Can I get your number?
No please.
Is that all?
I think? Feel free to look around the rest of the website. Thank you for reading this.
