Bought Taiwan-produced “short” mudflaps to replace the initial “long” mudflaps on the Civic Ferio.
So I bought another set of mudflaps. The old ones were not actually the type I was looking for despite what is seemingly a miniscule difference, but being the sharp (more dull really) eye that I have, I couldn’t let that pass.
The previous mudflaps were also Taiwan-produced with the relevant stamping on them. These I didn’t realize were also made in Taiwan until I found the stamping, but at the very least did I not buy another exact same set as before.
They were more akin to the Civic RTSi mudflaps, which extended higher up the rear bumper. That is legitimately among the only differences that I am aware of between the normal/SiR and RTSi mudflaps. The front ones are largely the same.
Seemingly different too are the slope angle of the rear mudflaps between the Taiwan-produced and Japan-produced mudflaps. Under certain angles was it easy to spot and others less noticeable.
These mudflaps were used and RM100. They looked like they were stored in a swamp – given it was Malaysia, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched. Plastic restorer did work in my favor here.
Anyway, I tried multiple methods to install the mudflaps. The fronts were reused hardware which were screw and washer – they had something to screw onto with exception for the innermost hole – frustrating.
I gave up fully for the rears because neither the “original Honda” screw and grommet worked, no bolt, no screw – nothing worked in my favor. Even those cheap zip-tie-design things (which are always advertised for mudflaps or splash guards) just break off with a slight tug.
I gave up and let an accessories shop do the work. And to also properly install the hudcaps.
