There is much to look at in this catalog dedicated to headunits and sound enhancements for the Airtrek.
Though nowadays they are discarded for large Android players and screens, there is charm to these old-school units that made use of colorful screens, remotes and outdated methods of navigation.
Most beautiful is the first option featured on the first contents page, the KENWOOD DPX-7021MPi (Mitsubishi part MZ595930) and its several different colors. Its a futuristic design (for the 2000s) – slotting itself into some Y2K aesthetics (thinking Chromecore but I’m no expert) and beautiful to see.
I hope then, that this list interests you as much as it did me! I’d happily swap the current Android player in Trek for something like this – provided I could find one…
