Fuel for Thought: 1990 Motoring magazines

A very quick observation after procuring a few 1990-release Motoring magazines compared to their newer formats.
So surprising was it that these lost-media of automotive history for Singapore was available for purchase from Japan.
I covered these in a previous Fuel for Thought article very briefly as these came as part of an import for my other car parts, but now taking a better look at them (I should have much earlier), I’ve gotten quite a few observations from browsing through.
These issues were more “small-scale” per se, as most of the articles are actually using stock images! Compared to the newer prints in the early 1990s and onward, most of the reviews were not shot domestically, some heavily reliant on press images given by the companies for editorial use.
But this doesn’t reflect the full story. There are still some Singapore-shot articles within, and some are super juicy that i hope to have released here in the near future.

Finally too, could I see Daihatsu Charade GTti and Suzuki Swift GTi prices when they were new! Unfortunately, none of these articles cover said cars, but there are some notable cars to gush over in the magazines. Once again, someday I will have them scanned and released here. Please stay tuned for that – even if it means several months away..
