Singapore – Efini is looking to purchase a Mitsubishi Airtrek (Assuming the deal doesn’t cut short) so he’s asked me and he himself is looking for parts, so we’re putting this here as a comprehensive pile of research to understand parts cost and more.
It is worth noting that the Mitsubishi Airtrek is directly related to the Mitsubishi Outlander of other or identical markets.
The Mitsubishi Airtrek production year spans from 2001 to 2008.
The Mitsubishi Outlander prod. year spans from 2003 to 2006.
The Mitsubishi Airtrek’s chassis code is CU2W.
Known issues with the Mitsubishi Airtrek (Mechanical defects):
- Front Wipers need replacement
- Front brake pads squeak
- Tyres need replacing
- Sunroof cannot fully open
- Door window actuators malfunction or do not work (Front Left [FL] works, FR fails, Rear L malfunctions, RR fails)
- Turbo Leak (Audible + Boost gauge shows under peak PSI)
Mitsubishi Airtrek cosmetic defects/ looking for replacement:
- Graphics on door and stripes on body panels
- Mazda CX-5 wheels
- Semi-non-functioning Third Brake Light
- Needs a wash
- Paint cracks
- Missing badges
Starting with wiper motors. A relatively easy find with a shopee.my link that costs at most RM68.80 w/o shipping.
Next on the agenda, suspension sets. Two listings sprung up. The first is a company called HWL, and their MT1BS Coilover set. Listed price is RM3230. Its set up 8k and 6k spring rates front and back and supposedly has lots more of potential configuration.
Another suspension set is sold by AK Motorsport. List price is RM2200 and does not provide technical detail.
Next on the agenda is front brake pads.
First on the list is a brembo set that is listed at RM187.55 which should directly fit onto an Airtrek.
Next is a OEM set from Vanli Genuine Parts that is sold out at the time of research but provides a sense of price.
Next on the agenda is mirror motors. As both mirror actuators are bust on the Airtrek, finding replacements is one requirement.
One issue is that during the research, finding only the motors were impossible and led no results, so finding whole mirrors is required to pull the motors out in the hopes that they will work.
Sourcing mirror parts will have to come from Japan in the form of Be Forward Auto Parts, where availability is still in stock. Checking for white examples yield a full set of left and right mirrors, which tallying the price including the included shipping estimate comes out at 266 USD (Constant regardless of shipping to SG or MYS)
Next on the list is the sunroof motor. An OEM set direct from Mitsubishi costs $353.13, which going by the part compatibility system the site offers mean that the price is in USD and is intended for US customers.
I suspect that the Mitsubishi Outlander and Airtrek should have compatible parts back-to-back, considering that both cars share the same shell.

Feeding Google the MN159254 Part Number/ SKU yields few results, but parts do appear available in countries farther away.

The next items are window regulators because the left passenger windows (Front and back) do not work.
Limited research found regulators for the front left and right front windows, both costing RM428.23 each.
To average and tally cost, I started with using the average of the two listed brake pads, which gives RM214.175.
Next was suspension, which averaged at RM2175 for a full set.
A set of mirrors costs 266USD.
A sunroof motor can be estimated at 353USD if purchased directly from Mitsubishi as a brand new part, or 31 Pounds second-hand.
Window regulators (Only for the fronts) are a total of RM856.46.
The total concurrently (Excluding window regulators) is RM5277.435. Adding the regulators is RM6133.895.
Converted to SGD is 1527.12, 1774.95 respectively.
The total does not include shipping of all but wing mirrors.

An estimate of tyres could be taken from the only site I found who would give a quote without needing contact information. One piece is original price RM610, discounted (at the time) to RM530. A full set would be RM2440, or RM2120 with discount.

I come back the next day. Congrats, FD, on your Airtrek. As noted, I will be putting down more items that are placed on the list.
Firstly, aircon compressor.
I can start with a shopee listing. As shown, it costs RM340.
There is another listing on carousell.
If the listing is to be trusted, the compressors can be sourced from other Lancer Evolution models including a Cedia CS5W.
The price is listed as RM450.
The CS5W is a Lancer CS5 that is a wagon, and it uses a 4G93 N/A motor. I’m not sure why a naturally aspirated wagon supposedly can take the same aircon compressor, but it does.
Looking for items such as absorbers, springs, coils, engine mounts and more? There is a website that lists parts for the CU2W Airtrek. Parts include suspension, engine mounts, steering rack components and brake pads. Link is here (Located in Selengor)
Cosmetics
Well, FD wants me to find certain more cosmetic items, so what I can find will fall under this category. What I consider cosmetics are things that aren’t required at all and aren’t necessary for the restoration work.
I will start with model-year correct Airtrek badges. 9 in stock at the time of writing, and RM150 for one.
Up next is a struct brace for the engine bay. I don’t know why FD is interested in it but I won’t judge. Just prepare for a more unenjoyable experience over Penang’s bouncy roads. One costs RM340, so start harvesting those kidneys for unneeded parts.

Alright, FD found an Airtrek parts facebook group, which is mostly dominated by Malaysian garages. The posts will fall under cosmetics for the simple virtue that they aren’t necessarily needed and are mostly, again. just cosmetic change.

Extra Trivia:
- Malaysian Market Airtrek’s use the same taillight design as the Outlander. Singapore market Airtrek’s use a different taillight design.
- Singaporean Airtrek’s mainly comprise of the 2005 and older facelift taillights and badging, while most Malaysian Airtrek’s are pre-2005 (2004 or older) and use pre-facelift taillights.
