Elanmi: Collection after breakdown

Collecting the car after repairs, again.
Previously right after my first tryout of 99 Bends in very heavy weather, the Elan started to idle rough, and seemingly misfiring. It ultimately stalled after pulling into a nearby gas station where it was unable to crank over.
This is the second time the car has broken down in my ownership.

After towing away, my go-to workshop was unable to replicate or deduce the cause. In fact, the Elan fired up no issue.
A plausible explanation I will go with is water went through the blow-off valve (rerouted to the fender) and water splashing into the system had affected combustion.
It was discovered that my power steering rack was leaking heavily and needed to be sorted whenever possible. My searching led to no replacement steering racks, but gasket replacement kits were available which I bought from SJSportsCars.
It was supposed to be ready on Wednesday, but the rack was still leaking and had to be disassembled again to find the root cause. I believe the other workshop that specializes in steering racks in Sin Ming Autocity had stopped the leak via an off-the-shelf gasket not available from the repair kit itself, but I am not fully sure.
The car has been collected post repair and should last a while longer.
