Archival: Toyota Camry Garcia American Billet Version By Modellista catalog (1998) (Japan)

America-famous generation of Camry gets an import impression of them via Toyota’s Modellista body kit!
A super brazen “official” body kit offered by Toyota! Toyota Modellista International, was formed as a joint venture between the Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Technocraft (which eventually merged into TRD) to curate customized cars and enter the modification scene as a first-party.
This venture that created the Modellista line of modifications started in February of 1997, making these options amongst the earliest parts that were offered for Toyota vehicles. The “American Billet Version” is supposedly called the “Yakuza” body kit in some groups but I’m not in any, so this isn’t confirmed.
Anyhow, these kits offered a lot of chrome from the bumpers to offered wheels and bespoke design. Most polarizing is still the two-part front bumper and dual-foglights offered for several models. Unexpected was the kit being available for the XV20-generation of Toyota Camry, a generation of Camry very popular in the US. I’m sure my old friend who has one in his family would be happy to browse this.
Catalog scanned from a 1998, 9M (September) release.
