The Honda Civic EK population is undergoing a steep decline. This is another one up for international grabs.

Another Honda Civic EK4 has hit the unofficial scrappage groups.
To do a refresher and stay consistent for anyone familiar and unfamiliar, the SiR was available in hatchback and saloon form in Singapore, powered by a 1.6-litre B16A2 outputting around 160 horsepower. These were a popular model then and now for its tuning and chassis prowess – effectively the ah beng car of choice for those who wanted cheap speed the classic enthusiast way.
This unit is a 1996 model meaning that as it would have left the factory, it would have an “older” rear design including taillights, trunk, front and rear bumpers and likely headlights too. This unit has long been converted into what Malaysians refer to as “EK99”, or 1999 model-year spec exterior. (The pre-facelift is commonly called “EK96”)
As Efini is keen to inform me, this example is a general mix of different parts slapped together with a poverty-spec EG-generation passenger seat, EK-generation Si (Japan market)/SiR (Singapore market) rear seats, EK-generation JDM ViRS doorcards and armrest, among other mods like the “EK99” exterior conversion.
We have covered several EK4s but this is the first unit actively being called for a “second” new life. Would this be worth breathing a new life into or scrap material and nothing more?
