Archival: Honda Prelude catalog (2025) (Japan)

The thrilling new hybrid Prelude with a less thrilling price tag! 2026 is fun…
You needn’t return to the past with this post.
I do feel Honda has done well with the smooth lines of the Prelude (front end looks rather same-y with other cars), but its target audience is not the younger generation (who can’t afford new cars comfortably anyhow) hence the fast-looking package with review-bombed performance (though its underpinnings are no-less exciting, Civic Type R suspension for one).
Where car dependency is dipping and cars are becoming a commodity than a necessity globally, the world will need more youthful and enticing cars for the younger generation to chase after (for all automotive companies to stay alive). At least Honda is now beginning sales of the sexy Super-ONE EV, a youth-targeted competitor fighting against the likes of the BYD ATTO 2 and Dolphin to attract younger buyers. Despite the halved range in the Super-ONE compared to the BYDs, the driving experience cannot be less worse than the noodle-chassis that the ATTO 2 has.
But the Prelude isn’t that car that will survive as its demographic continues to age. Its good for perhaps one more quick successor before its current target demographic… ceases to exist. Could we someday see a return of a SUPER-quick Prelude – like the SiR Type S (BB6) from many moons ago?
And this scan is also processed with super speed. Because of that, the quality is sadly not the best as I’ve come to realize. Its readable but I’m sure you may notice some text or imagery or QR codes are unreadable. Making way for a beforementioned hatchback scan…
Catalog scanned from an 2025, 9M (September) release.
