Initial D Meet introduces cars of the Wangan Midnight series.
This particular meetup has no street racing or highway runs despite the Wangan Midnight theme, sorry. Even without the 300km/h runs, ‘Devil Z’, the poster car of the WM series does appear here, alongside several other Zs.
Strictly speaking, not all casted cars of the series appeared in this meet, nor was all participating cars referenced in the Wangan Midnight universe or the arcades. The closest to the Blackbird Porsche 911 Turbo was a Audi TT, white Ferrari Testarossa a minature Lotus and Reina’s Nissan Skyline… its blue.
This meet was hosted by fujiwaratofu and supported by the SGRetroCar group, hence the many classics presented. Especially eye-catching was a Nissan Skyline RS-Turbo in the iconic red over black colorway.
As I was catching up with friends, coverage of every car is not present here. I was also playing around with a Kodak Charmera – a keychain-sized camera capable of both photography and videography. If you want to see better photos in fair lighting, refer to my Civic Ferio where I last used it.
It is very much more vibes than documentation, because the camera is particularly bad with focusing. But hey, they’re in the gallery if grainy unfocused cars are your thing.
Otherwise, it was a nice secluded meetup with very little people (still had two cars doing pulls) and was great catching up with those I spoke to (say hello).
Oh, and a bonus like the CL7 meet from a while ago, a simple video.
