Fictional: Subaru Impreza GC8 Type R

Recounting my old Impreza coupe…
Heya~
When the pandemic was a very big thing a few years ago, I bought over this deteriorating Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version-6 coupe from a workshop that intook the car after engine failure.
By then, it had eight years of COE left, but the car was left sitting without repair work done to it. I bought it over with the intention to work it up to being a daily driver while my Satria GTi was in the workshop, but it needed more than I expected.

The body had been heavily modified over several years, this replica Chase Yellow paintwork being one of a few coatings done over the original paintwork which was likely Deep Blue Mica. The front bumper was a custom design as was the rear wing. The suspension bushings were thrashed as was the interior – I was quoted a few thousand to do them up…
We pulled a full drivetrain from a crash-damaged Version-6 STi saloon and planted it into this car, where it became a daily driver for the next year. I had repainted it to a dark blue-green shade and was on the way of fitting a custom gauge cluster into the interior.

My plans fell due to the upkeep of this car being out of reach as a student. I sold it, and it went to a Subaru collector who has since tuned the car to around 400 horsepower with a livery. I’m a little proud that my paintwork is still on that car after all these years!

I miss it, but have no plans to buy it back – I’m tied down by my Proton…
