Penang 2024: D6 – Is this Integra worth saving?

Making sense of the Honda Integra that has sat in the same few spaces for a decade.
That Honda Integra saloon that I keep seeing and posted a few times – I now get a closer look for the first time in half a decade.

Over the past 6 years, this Integra has not received the TLC that it needs to keep it in good nick. Slightly faded paintwork and a perished carbon bonnet is surface-level indicator that this has either been neglected or used extensively – the interior cannot be seen from the extremely tinted windows. Completing the set are leftover wrenches hinting at some work hopefully to be done with the car.
Say, as a third-party interested in taking over this project, how much would it be?

I spoke with a friend to discuss costs and he estimated that the price to repair would easily be a RM50,000 job. Comparing online, a similar Integra saloon was available for the sum of RM25,000, so if the car was transacted for around the same amount, it wouldn’t be very economical to restore up.

However though, the car isn’t publicly placed for sale anywhere that I know of. So it probably isn’t really for sale at all. Maybe putting a piece of paper asking whether the owner is willing to sell would do anything? Maybe. I might do it, might not. For now, I feel that this car is just a little landmark.

Looking on maps, it seems that the car has been there since 2014. Ten whole years that this Integra has been in the vicinity – suppose the owner has been working around here for quite a while, and in a way has become iconic around this roundabout.
