Feriko: Long armrest

Honda’s solution to “wasted space” for the 2+2 layout of the Ferio SiR!
Sadly on my high horse again with sourcing for another optional piece…
Since the Ferio SiR came with a 2+2 seating layout with semi-bucket seats for rear occupants, the middle kept a storage compartment that isn’t designed to be sat on (and isn’t comfortable, as I’ve tried). With this in mind, Honda offered an optional “center divider” in the form of a long armrest for front occupants to maximize the center space.
These long armrests are not limited to the SiR and Ferio saloon. Other trims and the hatchback both had available these armrests in their respective fabrics that match the interior.
In terms of value, these commonly reside around RM600 in Malaysia though international prices may be far higher. I found mine for lower than the estimated value, though it is missing a bracket for installation as disclosed by the seller.

The condition received is fair with (I believe) paint scuffs on both sides. Given the size and pivot of the armrest, I expect the firm operation of the armrest to be intentional.
Bolting it on is simple as it involves removing four screws from the original armrest and taking it off – the gear console need not come off. My armrest does have a wired parking pole button that had to be removed before the original armrest could come off. The new set will enter the same way as the original armrest after reinstallation of any switches.
Carpets wise, I am unsure if cars optioned with the armrest still received the rear center carpet. Some enthusiast-owned units have the armrest go over the carpet, so this could have been the official configuration.
It is prone to wobbling the rear due to the fact the rear isn’t bolted down. On short distances with badly-paved speedbumps, there was no noticeable shake from the armrest, so in a way – sure, it fits, but the peace of mind would be appreciated.
With this, I am left with swapping the front doorcards and hopefully, HOPEFULLY calling it a day.
