Feriko: Cosmetic completion

Temporary finalization of Feriko’s condition without further planned visits.
It took roughly thirteen months but I have finally gotten Feriko at a state I am very pleased with.
Since the last few updates of the car, its had more cosmetic changes done and a decent restoration back to its OEM powertrain, missing a fully original exhaust system and little else incomplete.

Full intake resonators, 2.25-inch exhaust system without a catalytic converter, 15-inch length exhaust resonator, unknown headers.. Its in a spot now where I would refrain from touching and will be leaving it as is for the foreseeable future.
Repairs are permanently ongoing, modifications will maybe come in the very distant future if I enter the world of trackdays and group drives, but as a solo adventurer (wanderer if you will..), this is sufficient.
The last changes are done, switching out tyres and wheels for the Honda steelies from a previous entry. The tyres now are a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE004 in 195/55/15 size.

The hudcaps don’t necessarily bolt on perfectly – my “bad” set will immediately fall off, another good set being a snug fit but I prefer the safety of zipties.
It is a “ghetto” way of fitting these hudcaps, but like the rest of the condition of the car and advice from a few friends, I’m not going to bother too much making it look showroom-ready. It is a “shitbox” and I’m happy to keep it that way.
Especially keeping is the bumper protectors, I like how they work with the plastic door trim but am not a fan of the carbon-fibre texture – plus the real Honda Access ones are around S$100, which I am not too keen at the moment to buy in.

Thirteen months have created an expenditure black hole, surprisingly yet to reach beyond the optimal selling price for these genuine SiRs. Granted major points like rust, antenna, respray and bushings have not been addressed yet, but existing repairshaven’t costed beyond market value for the SiR.
Owning this car has also incentivized the archival segment in CharadeSG, more specifically hunting for brochures and printed material for the car. I’ve spent.. way more than I dare to admit; with about 90% of the EG-generation Civic collected, its best now to ease up.

I’m too enthusiastic, not helped by the extra Honda-related merchandise of similar era that compliment the car, but for the time being, I won’t complain; maybe I could sell these with Feriko to raise its value. Optimistic but inadvisable.
It really has been a spiral, as it hasn’t just been brochures but keychains, bags and apparel from Honda dealers in the 1980s-2000s.

Apart from accompanying media for the model, this car really got me going to document as much as possible as to what has been done to it. Even for receipts not issued by whichever shops have been replicated and printed to slot in a customized service book.
I don’t really spend my free time on other mediums of late, so it has been a personal project to fill in the gaps of Feriko and Trek’s service records as much as possible, from printing receipts to printing collages of what was changed.

To tangent, one of my first “nice” 1:64 scale model cars was coincidentally a black Inno64 Honda Civic Ferio SiR. I would not have expected many years later that what I own happens to be a (color) inverted Ferio SiR.

What comes after yet to be seen; there won’t be a guarantee that I can return to Penang in the coming months and surely not as easily for the next few years. Poetic then, that the car is now where I want it to be on this last stretch for now.
Its super rough around the edges and I am yet to be fastidious about overall condition and have the time to make for it, but it is a usable daily-driver around the streets of Penang.
Below is a collage of Feriko from last year in January (or July) to now in February.
More separate posts will come about how I tried to DIY some of the other things, which won’t be very big jobs as I’m not experienced enough to do major work hands-on.
