Fictional: Heavy hitters, Honda heroics

Civics opposite of civil – two Civic EG saloons worth taking heavy inspiration for aspiring owners.
Yet again from the resident Civic Ferio owner is coverage of – you could guess – EG-generation Honda Civics.
But while the hatchback is still the shape to have, you needn’t disregard the coupe, and certainly not the saloon. Across the border and in a shop in Johor Bahru are these two Civic saloons parked together amongst a host of other models.

Both cars are meticulous in replicating their respective styles. I can specifically vouch for the white unit with side-stripes (a me thing) and JTCC appearance. Meaty too is the 15×8 Group B NC01 alloys that match the white paint.
Both are stripped and purposed for street or track prowess instead of the usual family runner that the Civic Ferio was originally meant to be. Too bad my own car is some 700 kilometres away, all the way up in Penang Island.

Civic Ferios especially the EG and EK generation are still popular in Malaysia, where the country still remains to be one of the most plentiful in domestic-produced parts, imported halfcuts and bright (paint) ideas for the platform even when most have moved to the FD-generation and up.
Combine the parts galore (relative to other countries), a still-rich and old-school car culture and relaxed restrictions on car modification, builds like this can happen and be maintained.
And from across the border and around an hour from the customs – this Singapore-reg Honda Odyssey made to imitate a “Type R” conversion.

As for my own Civic Ferio, I should start considering side stripes.
