Fictional: High-powered saloons

Old-school big power, all compacted in four-door form!
Heya~
Over in Celestar wasn’t anything particular, but several foreign-registered vehicles were spotted in the usual hangout spots~
One Singaporean-registered Mercedes-Benz E280 estate and a UK-registered E55 AMG of the same generation were the first to show, followed with a Singaporean taxi.
Part of a collection and group of foreign-registered vehicles, the owner of the E55 AMG was kind to show us around it. The heart lies a 5.4-litre M113k supercharged V8 made quoted figures of 469 horsepower and 700Nm – hardly a slouch!
Similarly, the E280 estate bears a 3.0-litre naturally-aspirated V6, producing 228 horsepower and 300Nm, enough to haul the additional cargo space in the rear, also suited for an extra row of seats in the boot.
As told by fellow writers, the E280 is Singapore’s final few S211-generation E-Class estates, with that unit due to renew its Certificate Of Entitlement registration in the next upcoming days.
Following the convoy eventually led all to this other foreign-registered super-saloon.

A UK-registered Lotus Carlton; a Vauxhall Carlton with Lotus’ fettling and partial manufacturing to become the fastest factory-produced saloon of its time.
Rocketed by the same philosophy of the contemporary Toyota Supra and Nissan Skyline GT-R, the 3.6-litre Opel C36GET engine is paired with twin-turbochargers to output 377 horsepower and 568Nm of torque, enough for close to sub 4-seconds in the 0-100 km/h sprint.
With a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI TM-V4 loaned to us at the time, it was a wonder how either cars would fare against one another in the local mountain roads.

This Carlton may be registered locally in Celestar, hence its presence in the country. I look forward to seeing it on local plates when it does happen.
As for that Mitsubishi, you can be certain that we will be letting you know all about it in a later post. Stay tuned for that! Cheerio~
