Feriko: Nearly-stock intake and exhaust system

As close I can reasonably get to emulating the original system with non-original components.
With Feriko returned and roaring to go, I gave the car a shakedown in some of the local and less populated roads.
Freed mostly from its original obnoxious “fartcan” setup (which it still is), the modifications done to reverse the system has included removing the muffler for a OEM hatchback piece (which the tailpipe had to be extended to fit the bumper), a 15-inch long resonator on the 2.25-inch exhaust system and stock airbox, complete with the two intake resonator pieces.
The resonator is ok-ish, the airbox a raised eyebrow, the intake resonators a frown.

I was informed – and rightfully so – that the original intake resonators will eat up air taken in by the system and thus restrict power (which is why everyone swaps to an open pod or similar), but its a sacrifice I am willing to make to make this car back to OEM.
Throttle response is less responsive than the previous Mugen-replica open-pod filter and doesn’t sound as throaty, but its still pretty good.
Below is an in-cabin sound test of a period-test of a similar SiR hatchback and Feriko.
I have no locations to lay my phone on the street and do a run from the outside, so I have no exterior recording to present.
My workshop had opted to install the injector cables left in my car (which I had wanted to DIY to learn) and the Samco hoses, so the engine bay looks evermore blue.
I previously converted a photo of the airbox label and made it into a seamless image for printing, which will be released into this website in the future alongside a few other labels.

It is definitely more tidy than the engine bay has ever been in my ownership. The last cosmetic thing i would really want to do is paint the valve cover back to the original black and call it a day. That’s the last thing for cosmetics.

My last piece of expected cosmetics to install are steelies and then focusing fully on repairs. I’ve done enough with this car for looks already, and its already good enough.
